On a crisp March day in Haarlem, Sasha and Maarten celebrated a special milestone—exactly one year since they first met. Sasha, a Ukrainian woman, and Maarten, a Dutch man, had quickly realized they were meant to be together. To mark their first anniversary, they chose to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony that blended their cultures and backgrounds.

The ceremony took place in the heart of Haarlem, a city full of charm and history. Although Sasha’s family couldn’t attend in person, they were present via WhatsApp, sharing the moment from afar. In a touching gesture, Maarten read his vows in Ukrainian, showing his deep love and commitment to Sasha. She, in turn, promised to support him on their journey together.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a celebratory toast in Haarlem’s city center. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as they raised their glasses of champagne. Following this, Sasha, Maarten, and I, their photographer, took a short trip to a nearby Dutch forest.
